Attack of La Nina Brings Nearly 4 Feet of Fresh Snow to Sun Valley

Between three and four feet of fresh white stuff fell in the Sun Valley area over the past three days setting the region up for an amazing remainder of the season for skiing and other winter activities.  Bald Mountain has seen over 35" in the past three days and upwards of 48" have fallen in the northern reaches of the valley.  The mountain is now 100% open with powder and packed powder gracing all aspects.  The Sun Valley Nordic trail system is also 100% open with the Quigley Nordic Area in Hailey getting blasted with enough snow to set all tracks and classic rounding out the 250 kilometers of nordic trails here in Nordic Town USA.  The Wood River Trail is now groomed the entire 12 miles from Sun Valley to Bellevue in preparation for the Ski the Rails event this coming Saturday January 28th.  This set of storms sets the stage for a highly successful and fun filled Sun Valley Nordic Festival  which kicks off Saturday and runs through the entire week with a full assortment of winter fun and nordic skiing activities for the entire family.  The Boulder Mountain Tour is set to run from Galena to the Sawtooth National Recreation Area Headquarters February 4th.  More information on grooming condtions can be found at http://wintertrailink.bcrd.org/grooming_report.php
